Saran is a district in the Bihar State of India. Total area of Saran is 2,641 km² including 2,575.31 km² rural area and 65.69 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Saran has a population of 39,51,862 peoples, out of which urban population is 3,53,202 while rural population is 35,98,660. The district has a population density of 1496 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 6,31,097 houses in the district, including 55,873 urban houses and 5,75,224 rural houses.
