Katihar is a district in the Bihar State of India. Total area of Katihar is 3,057 km² including 2,988.64 km² rural area and 68.36 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Katihar has a population of 30,71,029 peoples, out of which urban population is 2,73,822 while rural population is 27,97,207. The district has a population density of 1005 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 6,19,076 houses in the district, including 53,564 urban houses and 5,65,512 rural houses.
